reboot doesn't reboot (Dell 8000 Inspiron)

I cvsuped today on a -current and as a result typing
"reboot" doesn't totally reboot but shuts down the notebook
to the message:

Uptime: 8m11s

but then it hangs.

Need to powercycle, not even CTRL-ALT-DEL possible.
