burncd is unable to fixate on Dell Inpiron 2650

fixating CD, please wait..
burncd: ioctl(CDRIOCFIXATE): Input/output error

I get the same errors when trying to burn an audio cd. Every time it
burns it just fine it just fails to fixate the disk when done.

Any ideas?

I have not. Is the process of getting that setup documented somewhere?

Have you tried using cdrecord with scsi emulation (atapicam)?
My ATAPI cdburner has not worked for a couple of months with burncd,
but cdrecord is fine.
